Well Water Chlorination/ De-Chlorinating treatment System

PRODUCT FEATURES

Benefits:

Disinfects Water. The result of proper chlorination is safe, disinfected potable water.

Reduction of Iron Staining from Irrigation. Chlorine injected into the water at the well will oxidize clear water iron and help reduce iron stains on the outside of your home from irrigation.

Removes Contaminates. Remove up 99.9% of chlorine and chlorine by products use for disinfection, solvents, gasoline, pesticides, trihalomethanes and radon.

Removes Hard water minerals. Soft water reduces lime scale in plumbing and appliances, makes clothes cleaner and brighter and helps keep your hair and skin soft. Eliminates hard water stains and spots on fixtures, tile and shower glass.

Improved Taste. Produces clean, clear great tasting water and eliminates odors.

HOW IT WORKS

Chlorination treatment systems are an “at the source” system installed at your water supply or well. The system consists of three stages of treatment; Chlorination, Activated Carbon Filtration and Soft Water Filtration.

First Stage: The  Chlorination System disinfects the water by destroying bacteria, parasites, hydrogen sulfide, tannins and other biological matter if present in the water. Chlorine also aids in the removal of iron by oxidizing it into a filterable reddish insoluble form. A chlorine solution is injected directly into the water supply at the outlet of the well. This chlorinated water is directed to irrigation if needed and then into a large (80 to 120 gallon) holding or settling tank to allow the chlorine to do its work. This allows the containments along with the oxidized iron to settle to the bottom of the tank where it can be easily removed or “blown off” by a valve in the bottom of the tank installed for that purpose. Dead biologics and other contaminates  also will be separated and captured at the bottom of the tank during the settling process. The treated water is then routed to the carbon filter from the top of the holding tank.

Second Stage: The Activated Carbon Filtration System is used to de-chlorinate the water once the chlorine has done its work. In addition to the elimination of chlorine, the activated carbon improves taste and removes odors from the water supply along with removal of most chlorinated and non-chlorinated solvents, gasoline, pesticides, trihalomethanes and radon. The system uses a self cleaning regenerating filter that forces the water  through a bed of activated carbon to remove the contaminates from your water. The regeneration system is automated with an electric timer that cleans the filter on a regular schedule. Now the treated water flows into the water softener for mineral removal.

Third Stage: Soft Water Filtration uses ion exchange media or resin to filter mineral contaminates from the water supply. The softening resin or media contained in the tank removes the calcium, magnesium and manganese or “hardness” from the water as the water is passed through it. The two-tank system uses an automatic regenerating system to clean itself after the media becomes saturated with these minerals. The system uses a brine solution stored in a separate tank to flush and clean the resin. The regeneration system is automated with an electric timer that cleans the filter on a regular schedule. The result is clean, clear potable water ready for use in your home.**

*(Applications of homes with supply lines larger than 1″or over 6500 Sq Feet require upgraded system configuration. Please contact WKG for quotations and additional information.)

**(All ground water from private wells must be tested and analyzed for proper treatment application.)

PLEASE NOTE

All systems include media, chemicals and configuration. Homes over 6500 Sq Ft or with excessive water usage require increased capacity equipment. Call for configuration and pricing.
